Attended training presented by the Florida Department of Children & Families regarding the responsibilities of the “professional reporter”. As previously discussed meditations are confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law. Mediators are professional reporters and in the course of mediation may become privy to information related to child abuse, sexual abuse, and abuse on a vulnerable adult. Therefore the mediator is obligated to report this to the Florida Abuse Hotline.
