Child Support

August 1, 2014

Child support is a fundamental obligation of the parents and the right of the child. The parents do not have the ability to waive child support or give up support in exchange for an agreement to not visit the child.

Child support is calculated using the Florida Child Support Guidelines. The figure is based on your gross incomes, the amount of money spent on the child’s healthcare, daycare, and the percentage of overnights the child spends with each parent.  (F.S. 61.30)
