MEDIATION
ADVANTAGES OF MEDIATION
CIVIL V. COMMERCIAL MEDIATION
Tom is certified by the Florida Supreme Court to mediate in all areas of mediation (County, Circuit, Family, and Dependency Court) cases. A distinction held by fewer than fifty mediators in the State of Florida.
Elder Mediation is a new area of mediation in Florida. Like all mediations it is private, confidential and completely voluntary. Mediators facilitate a purposeful and directed conversation in which family members are encouraged to express their interests and concerns. Meetings are informal and are held in locations which meet the family’s needs including private homes, mediators’ offices and senior living facilities or virtually via Zoom.
As the mediator I am certified by the Florida Supreme Court in Family, Dependency, and Circuit mediation. As a neutral facilitator who does not provide advice or “take sides” in these discussions. The goals of mediation are twofold. First to allow families to create workable and mutually acceptable solutions to their difficult disputes, and second to develop communication strategies to enable them to successfully work together to make important decisions in the future.
Herzog Mediation, LLC (Tom Herzog) recently reached a significant milestone, having mediated over one thousand cases.
Previously, most mediations were conducted face-to-face, with a small percentage held over the phone, often by court order. While telephone mediations have been effective, they limited the direct connection between parties.
Now, Herzog Mediation exclusively offers video conference mediations, providing a convenient, fully interactive solution for all clients.
At Herzog Mediation the health and safety of our
clients is always a priority. We are
closely monitoring the current situation surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
through federal, state and local authorities.
We maintain procedures to help ensure we are able to continue business
during times such as these, and we are following those plans.
We are taking precautionary steps, such as
cleaning and sanitizing work areas and encouraging clients to wash their hands thoroughly
as a further precaution.
All currently scheduled mediations whether
private, court ordered, or through state programs will be held as scheduled.
Since the situation is fluid we may utilize
telephonic mediations for some private and court ordered programs in the coming
weeks.
I appreciate your business and thank you for
choosing Herzog Mediation.
I am honored to announce that on March 14, 2019 I was appointed to the Northern Division of the Mediator Qualifications and Discipline Review Board (MQDRB) as a Family/non-attorney mediator.
A copy of Chief Justice Canady’s administrative
order appointing me to the MQDRB is attached below.
